Chengdu Gleneagles Hospital is a cooperative unit of the Medical Alliance of West China Fourth Hospital of Sichuan University. The Palliative Medicine Department (Gleneagles Ward) of West China Fourth Hospital of Sichuan University is headed by Chen Huiping, director of the Palliative Medicine Department of West China Fourth Hospital with a professional medical team in palliative medicine. There are 31 wards with 46 beds in total, of which 16 are single wards and the other 15 are double.

Ø As the first professional institution to provide ward services of palliative medicine in China, we have accumulated rich clinical experience in practice

Ø We have established a home-community-ward service network to provide three-level linkage palliative care.

Ø There are 42 professional medical workers in our specialized palliative medicine team, including 15 doctors and 27 nurses, many of whom have received professional training in countries and regions where palliative medicine is advanced such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia.


Diagnosis & Treatment 


  We provide palliative treatment for patients with advanced cancer/non-cancer life-limited diseases, and overall care treatment for patients and their families, to effectively relieve the patient’s living pain and improve their quality of life, and diagnosis and treatment of advanced cancer/non-cancer life-limited patients with diabetes and complications.


 We are proficient in medical critical rescue, including central venous catheterization, PiCCO placement and monitoring, CRRT, tracheal intubation, ventilator operation, bedside fiber bronchoscopy, etc.
